Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and Kaia Gerber spoke publicly for the first time on Sunday, October 18, about the death of Presley Gerber, who died last month at 27. In a joint statement on social media, they said they were "so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years," ABC News reported.
Presley died at a rehab facility in Santa Monica in September. His cause of death has not been released.
What did the family say?
The joint statement was shared on the Instagram accounts of both Crawford and Rande Gerber and signed "Mom, Dad and Kaia," CBS News Los Angeles reported. In it, the family said they were heartbroken, described Presley as a kind, loving soul, and ended by saying they will love him forever.
Kaia Gerber, 25, posted a separate tribute. She called Presley her "forever big brother" and her "ultimate teacher," and wrote that being his sister was her "favorite thing about myself," according to ABC News.
She shared childhood memories and said she has struggled with a sense of emptiness since his death. She wrote that she was "born loving" him and will "die loving" him, CBS reported.
