The Ram 1500 has been included in eight safety recalls filed with NHTSA in 2026. The biggest covers 1,271,294 trucks from 2019 to 2026 whose rear seat belt buckle anchors may not be installed correctly. Others deal with blank rearview cameras, trailer brakes, headlights, tire pressure sensors and side airbags.

All repairs are free. Some camera fixes can be done over the air.

Which Ram 1500 recall matters most?

The seat belt anchor recall (26V495) is the broadest. It covers trucks going back to the 2019 model year, when the current-generation Ram 1500 launched.

NHTSA says the second-row center and left-side buckle anchors "may have been improperly installed" and "may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury during a crash." Dealers will inspect them and attach the anchors to the body structure where needed.

Why does my Ram's backup camera go blank?

Two separate recalls cover this:

  • 26V560: 239,130 2025–2026 Ram 1500s, where a radio software error may stop the rearview camera image from displaying. Owner letters went out September 24, Work Truck Online reported.
  • 26V531: 844,027 vehicles across Jeep, Ram, Chrysler and Dodge, including the 2026 Ram 1500.

Both are fixed with a radio software update, over the air or at a dealer.

Which recalls are newest?

Two were filed on September 29, 2026, with owner letters expected October 27:

  • TPMS (26V623): 16,385 2026 Ram 1500s whose tire pressure sensors may not detect low pressure or turn on the warning light.
  • Side airbags (26V622): five 2026 Ram 1500s with a side airbag connector that may not be secured.

How do I check my Ram 1500?

  1. Find your 17-digit VIN on the lower driver's side of the windshield or on your registration.
  2. Enter it at nhtsa.gov/recalls or the Mopar owner site.
  3. Book any open repairs at a Ram dealer. Each is free.

Stellantis also recalled 328,381 Jeep Grand Cherokees for a third time over rear coil springs, and Ford is calling back 223,472 F-150s over fuel tanks.
