What's in the collection?

The collection mixes lululemon's technical fabrics with GANNI's signatures: ruffle trims, leopard print and bold colour pairings. The headline piece is GANNI's take on lululemon's Define Jacket. There are also leg warmers, boleros and headbands, a nod to the dance-studio theme.

Prices for pieces reported by Marie Claire and Good Morning America:

Piece Price
Ruffle-Trim Cropped Tank Top $110
Jacquard Mesh Tank Top $120
Ruffle-Trim Textured Mid-Rise Short 2.5" $120
Jacquard Mesh Half-Sleeve Bodysuit $140
Flat Mate (slipper-style flats) $160
Ruffle-Trim Mid-Rise Tight 28" $178
Define Ruffle-Trim Jacket $180
Brushed Softstreme Barrel-Leg Pant $200
Brushed Softstreme Slouchy Pullover $220
Ruffle-Trim Textured Mid-Rise Pant $220
Ruffle-Trim Textured Jacket $240
Ruffle-Trim Textured Midi Dress $280

Marie Claire's reviewer found the sheer textured pieces, including the ivory tracksuit and the midi dress, striking but very sheer. Size ranges were not detailed in launch coverage; check the product pages.

What inspired it?

"80s dance movies have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like such a natural starting point," said Ditte Reffstrup, GANNI's creative director. "I've always been drawn to the energy, determination, and sense of freedom in those films."

Marie Claire names Fame, Footloose and Dirty Dancing among the influences. Casting Jennifer Beals, the star of 1983's Flashdance, makes the reference explicit.

"What I love about this collection is its use of our technical materials combined with the iconic GANNI style," said Jonathan Cheung, lululemon's global creative director.

Is it sold out?

Not entirely, but it's moving. Good Morning America reported on launch day that styles were selling quickly, and Marie Claire said the cropped cardigan sold out shortly after launch. Stock varies by piece, size and country.

Why lululemon is doing this now

lululemon has done designer collaborations before, including a 2019 capsule with Roksanda Ilincic and its SLNSH line with Saul Nash, which ended this summer.

This one arrives at a difficult moment. In the second quarter, lululemon's comparable sales fell 9%, and 12% in the Americas, Modern Retail reported, and leggings sales dropped 20%. Heidi O'Neill, a former Nike executive, became CEO on September 8, 2026. lululemon has not said the GANNI deal is part of a turnaround plan; it launched about five weeks into her tenure.

Who is GANNI?

GANNI is a Copenhagen label founded in 2000 and run since 2009 by Ditte Reffstrup, creative director, and Nicolaj Reffstrup. Private equity firm L Catterton bought a majority stake in the late 2010s.

Published October 18, 2026. Prices are U.S. retail as reported at launch and may change; availability varies by market.
