The winless Los Angeles Chargers visit the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The scoreboard above updates live once the game starts.

How to watch

  • Kickoff: 3:25 p.m. Central (4:25 p.m. Eastern), Sunday, October 18
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Paramount+, and NFL Sunday Ticket out of market
  • Line: Chiefs -7.5, over/under 41.5 (DraftKings)

Two teams going opposite ways

Kansas City (4-0) is rested after a bye and has won every game, two of them by three points: 31-10 over Denver, 33-30 over Indianapolis, 24-10 at Miami and 30-27 at Las Vegas.

Los Angeles (0-5) has lost to Arizona, Las Vegas, Buffalo, Seattle and, last week, Denver, 23-17. It is the franchise's worst start since 2003. Justin Herbert was sacked five times and lost a fourth-quarter fumble against the Broncos.

"Hellbent on turning it around" is how coach Jim Harbaugh put it, with a dozen games left. He said he has "no qualms" about Herbert's nine turnovers.

"We have never even discussed that idea"

The slump has produced the inevitable question: would the Chargers trade Justin Herbert? A source in the organisation shut that down to ESPN's Adam Schefter last week:

"Let me be very clear about this. We have never even discussed that idea."

Herbert has 937 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions so far.

Players to watch

Chargers Chiefs
QB Justin Herbert: 937 yds, 5 TD, 7 INT Patrick Mahomes: 1,037 yds, 9 TD, 2 INT
Rushing Omarion Hampton: 271 yds, 3 TD Kenneth Walker III: 537 yds, 4 TD
Receiving Tre' Harris: 15 rec, 225 yds Travis Kelce: 16 rec, 246 yds, 2 TD

Injuries

Chargers: OT Joe Alt and S Derwin James Jr. are out. CB Rodney Shelley is doubtful; WRs KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Brenen Thompson are questionable.

Chiefs: OT Josh Simmons and WR Rashee Rice are out. CB L'Jarius Sneed is questionable.

Final inactives come out about 90 minutes before kickoff.

This is the first of two meetings this season; the rematch is scheduled for January 3 in Los Angeles.

Published Sunday, October 18, 2026, before kickoff. Records, statistics, injuries and odds are from ESPN as of Sunday morning. The live score is provided by ESPN.
