Burger King's PAW Patrol Kids' Meal Toys Are Out Now: All Six Characters and How Long They Last

Burger King's PAW Patrol toys are in restaurants now. King Jr. Kids' Meals began including them on Wednesday, ahead of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, which opens in theaters August 14.

There are six toys in the set:

  • Chase
  • Marshall
  • Rubble
  • Skye
  • Rex
  • Rhubarb the T-Rex

Rhubarb is the dinosaur at the center of the new film's premise, which is why the set leans prehistoric rather than sticking to the core pups.

How long it runs

Burger King is calling it a limited-time collection and has not published an end date. The practical read is that promotions like this are built around the film's theatrical window, so the weeks around August 14 are the safe assumption — and the sooner you go, the better the odds of finding the characters you are missing.

Availability is at participating locations nationwide, which in practice means individual restaurants may run out of specific toys at different rates.

If you are trying to collect all six

Burger King has not said the toys are individually selectable, and kids' meal promotions typically hand them out based on what a location has in stock rather than letting you choose.

If completing the set matters, ordering at the counter and asking which characters are currently available is more reliable than ordering through the app, where you generally cannot specify. It is also worth noting that some locations will sell toys separately at their own discretion, though that is not part of the official promotion.

Why chains keep doing this

The kids' meal toy is one of the oldest mechanics in fast food and one of the few that still reliably works. It converts a film's marketing spend into restaurant traffic, gives families a reason to pick one drive-thru over another during a specific four-week window, and costs the chain relatively little per unit.

Burger King has been leaning on the King Jr. Kids' Meal as a family-traffic driver, and a PAW Patrol tie-in is close to the ideal property for it — the audience for the toys and the audience for the movie are the same children, and the film's release date does the scheduling work.

McDonald's has spent decades making the Happy Meal the default association for this, which is precisely why competitors keep buying into the same film calendar.
