How did Bryan announce the EP?
The usual way: loosely, online. On July 3 he posted acoustic clips of "Lodi When," recorded on a porch, and "Better Friends," recorded in his car in a parking garage, Country Central reported. In August, he told a Salt Lake City crowd that the EP would land in October.
Which preview songs didn't make it?
"Better Friends" and "Breakfast in Bed" were both teased online but are not on the final tracklist, Holler reported. "Lodi When" made the cut and opens the EP.
Why does the Lana Del Rey feature matter?
It pairs two of the biggest names crossing between country and pop. Del Rey has been moving toward country and is also a co-host of the country station in Grand Theft Auto VI, out November 19. More in our GTA 6 soundtrack guide.
Where does this fit in Bryan's year?
- January: With Heaven On Top (25 songs)
- March to October 10: With Heaven On Tour, ending in Auburn, Alabama
- October 16: Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs (8 songs)
It was the headline release of a busy week. See the rest in New Music Friday, October 16.
