Is faux fur back for winter 2026?
Yes. InStyle listed "Grandma (Faux) Furs" among the season's 20 trends: oversized, plush coats with an old-fashioned feel. The trend has reached mainstream labels: Skims' Alpine range, launched October 8, includes faux-fur puffer jackets alongside cable-knit turtlenecks and sherpa pants, The Zoe Report reported.
How to wear it: keep everything underneath simple, such as jeans and a knit, and let the coat do the work.
Which prints are trending on coats?
Snow leopard is the standout, a paler, cooler leopard InStyle spotted at Bottega Veneta, Carolina Herrera and Tom Ford. Jacquard outerwear at Michael Kors and Dior is the other pattern story.

What is the classic coat to invest in?
A camel wrap coat. This fall Max Mara added the Ready coat to its Icons line, a wrap in double-faced pure camel hair with a raglan cut, recently worn by Adria Arjona, RUSSH reported. It is the coat most likely to outlast this season's trends.
What about puffers and technical coats?
Technical outerwear is still strong. Canada Goose's Fall/Winter 2026 collection is designed by Haider Ackermann, RUSSH noted, and Skims followed its The North Face collaboration with its own Alpine puffers.
