Why is Veronica Leoni leaving Calvin Klein?
The company has not said. Calvin Klein's statement, reported by W Magazine and The Zoe Report, frames the move as the end of her contract. David Savman, Calvin Klein's global brand president, thanked her for her "creative vision, commitment and partnership over the past two years," and called the reintroduction of Collection a significant milestone for the brand.
Calvin Klein added that Collection will remain "an important part of Calvin Klein's long-term strategy," signalling the runway line is not being shut down.
What did she do at Calvin Klein?
Leoni was hired to bring back the brand's high-end runway line. Her debut, Fall/Winter 2025 in February 2025, got mixed reviews, W Magazine noted, but critics warmed to Spring 2026.
Her work leaned on the house's minimalist roots: pared-back silhouettes, layered tops, taffeta ballgown skirts and fringed dresses, The Zoe Report said. Her final show, Spring 2027 in September 2026, centred on A-line dresses, pleated trousers and midi pencil skirts, and drew a front row of Rosalía, Teyana Taylor, Sadie Sink, Tate McRae and Pamela Anderson.
Who is Veronica Leoni?
The Italian designer, 42, built her career in some of fashion's most respected minimalist studios:
| Brand | Role |
|---|---|
| Jil Sander | Design team |
| Celine | Design team |
| Moncler | Design team |
| The Row | Design team |
| Quira | Founder, 2020 (paused for Calvin Klein) |
| Calvin Klein Collection | Creative director, 2024–2026 |
She was hired by then-Calvin Klein president Eva Serrano, who cited that résumé.
Who will replace her?
Calvin Klein says a successor will be announced "in due course." Leoni's exit adds to an unusually busy year of designer changes, including Seán McGirr's departure from Alexander McQueen and Anthony Vaccarello's exit from Saint Laurent.
