Why is Iron Maiden coming back so soon?

The band had planned to take a break from live shows in 2027, Loudwire reported. Then they changed their minds.

"We've been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed," Steve Harris said in the announcement. He singled out the Northwest and Southeast and said the band also wanted to headline a couple more U.S. festivals.

Manager Rod Smallwood said the first leg drew some of the biggest crowds Maiden has played to in North America. He promised the band would bring "Eddie's Dive Bars" along on the new dates.

Who is supporting Iron Maiden?

Bullet For My Valentine, the Welsh metal band, and The Raven Age, a London band whose guitarist, George Harris, is Steve Harris's son. Blabbermouth said it is Maiden's first all-British three-band bill in North America since 1983.

What else is going on with Iron Maiden?

  • Rock Hall: the band are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 2026 class and have said they will not attend the ceremony, NME reported.
  • Setlist: Run For Your Lives only uses songs from the first nine albums, through Fear of the Dark (1992).
  • Drums: Simon Dawson has taken over the live drum stool from Nicko McBrain.
  • Rights deal: earlier this year the band sold a 50% stake in their music and likeness rights to Pophouse Entertainment, the company behind ABBA Voyage, NME reported.

By the end of 2027 the tour will total 107 shows in 36 countries for more than three million fans, according to the announcement.

Other big rock tours on sale this month include Def Leppard's 2027 arena run.
