The biggest fall 2026 nail trends are jewel tones, velvet chrome, dark metallics, almost-black blues, fantasy pearl finishes and a sheer "almost-there" French, according to manicurists quoted by The Zoe Report and Who What Wear. For colour, burgundy is the classic pick and chocolate brown the trendiest, The Everygirl says.

What colors are trending for fall 2026 nails?

The Everygirl's editors split the season into three groups:

  • Classics: burgundy, plum, deep navy, hunter green, deep red, jet black, terracotta
  • Trending: copper metallic, espresso, berry pink, dusty purple, rusty red chrome, emerald, champagne, midnight blue
  • Neutrals: milky tan, sheer pink, taupe, soft blush, caramel, milk chocolate, milky white

Their quick picks: burgundy (most classic), chocolate brown (trendiest), milky taupe (best neutral), espresso (best for short nails), berry pink (statement) and olive green (most versatile).

Are dark nails still in?

Yes. "I think that dark trend will stay but evolve into almost-black blues, browns, and, of course, black," manicurist Holly Falcone told Who What Wear. ORLY's Fariha Ali told The Zoe Report that dark chrome is "a very easy way to dip your toes into this trendy vibe": "Instead of silver, think gunmetal; instead of gold, think steampunk bronze."

What's the fall version of a French manicure?

Softer and hazier. Falcone said she loves "an almost-there, soft French," made by brushing a translucent base coat over French tips. For a bolder seasonal take, The Everygirl suggests burgundy or olive micro French tips.

What nail art is trending?

  • Fashion prints: plaid, tweed and cashmere-inspired designs that "take inspiration from fall fashion," MiniLuxe's Nicole Wong said
  • Micro details: "Tiny stars and dots forever," Falcone said
  • Brown polka dots, cherry swirls and animal prints, including deer print, per The Everygirl
  • Aura nails and velvet red swirls

Should I just get a clean manicure?

That is a trend too. Manicurist Stephanie Stone told Who What Wear that "the 'underrated' nail product right now is cuticle oil—not a color." Pair a buffed, satin finish with sheer pink or milky white for a polished look that lasts through the holidays. The fall hair trend runs on the same lived-in idea: see our guide to fall 2026 hair and makeup trends.
